US District Judge Lucy Koh ruled in California late Thursday evening, that the 2020 Census deadline be extended until October 31st. Only 4 out of 50 states have reached a high enough number for closing. Due to the Coronavirus the deadline was extended this year to Oct 31 and April 2021 became the time frame set for reporting to the president. It was not until August that Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross made the announcement, they would shorten the deadline to September 30th and set the reporting deadline to December 31st. Judge Koh pointed out it would be unlikely that the Census would reach it’s standard for completion. The Trump administration is appealing this ruling. – Seqnews
