In one of the most anticipated match ups in recent NFL history it was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs the Kansas City Chiefs, but truly we were all looking to see Tom Brady vs Patrick Mahomes. Brady will go down as the greatest NFL Quarterback of all time and if it were anyone looking to challenge his crown it seems it would be Mahomes.

Tom Brady received his 7th Super Bowl Championship and 5th Super Bowl MVP, throwing 21/29 on 201 yards with 0 interceptions. Brady is now 7 of 10 in the Super Bowl. The Buccaneers started strong with the run which opened up the game to play action and some great screens. Brady also broke a record with 14 touchdowns between him and Rob Gronkowski, an historical achievement they received from an accumulation of Super Bowls they played in together. Rob Gronkowski scored 2 touchdowns and Antonio Brown scored 1 touchdown as well a run in touchdown from Leonard Fornette.

If there was ever a group that could share MVP privileges it would have to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense who kept Patrick Mahomes on his toes all night on only 6 blitzes. The D-Line was getting through the Kansas City Chiefs O-Line it would seem on every play and Mahomes could never get his feet set. Even with that, Patrick Mahomes showed why he is the future of the NFL with some great running and diving passes that showed unbelievable accuracy. Buccaneer defense received 2 interceptions and 3 sacks on the day as well. Mahomes threw for 270 yards on 26/49 with 2 interceptions.

  • The Kansas City Chiefs defense also has a highlight that puts them 3rd in NFL history with 120 yards in penalties. The defense that ranks highest in penalties in the NFL did exactly what they have done all year. Though some would question the penalties given to the Chiefs 120 yards to the Bucs 39 yards, all the game changing penalties did go to the Bucs, but even with that said the Chiefs defense never could stop the Bucs from getting to Mahomes at all. Patrick Mahomes Mom had some words directed at Brady’s wife Giselle during the game and went viral. Though she later thanked the Brady family for their kind words and sportsmanship.

Tom Brady says he’s definitely coming back next year and Patrick Mahomes plans to be back after an off season toe surgery, Do you think will we get a part 2 in 2022?

Thanks for tapping into Seqnews for updates on Super Bowl LV.
